🌱 GROWMINT DIGITAL PRIVATE LIMITED
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
Effective Date: [18/08/2026]
Last Updated: [18/08/2026]
GrowMint Digital Private Limited (“GrowMint”, “Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates a technology-enabled marketplace connecting customers with independent sellers/vendors offering home-improvement products.
This Return & Refund Policy explains when a product purchased through GrowMint may be returned, replaced or refunded.
This policy should be read together with the GrowMint Terms & Conditions and the applicable product listing.
⸻
1. Marketplace Return Policy
Products sold on GrowMint may be supplied by independent sellers/vendors.
Therefore, return and refund eligibility may vary according to:
* Product category
* Product condition
* Reason for return
* Seller’s disclosed policy
* Manufacturer warranty
* Product warranty
* Applicable law
However, a seller cannot refuse an applicable return or refund where the product is defective, deficient, spurious, materially different from what was advertised/agreed, or otherwise covered by applicable consumer law.
⸻
2. CUSTOMER SHOULD CHECK THE PRODUCT POLICY BEFORE ORDERING
Before purchasing a product, customers should check the product page for:
Return eligibility
Replacement availability
Warranty/guarantee
Return period
Non-returnable status
Seller information
Applicable return shipping charges
GrowMint aims to display relevant information clearly so customers can make an informed purchasing decision. This is also consistent with the information-disclosure requirements applicable to marketplace e-commerce.
⸻
3. PRODUCTS THAT MAY BE RETURNED
Subject to the applicable product listing and law, customers may request a return/replacement where:
A. Wrong Product
The product delivered is different from the product ordered.
B. Damaged Product
The product arrives damaged or materially damaged during delivery.
C. Defective Product
The product does not function as reasonably expected or has a manufacturing defect.
D. Missing Parts
Important components advertised as included are missing.
E. Product Not as Described
The product materially differs from the description, specifications or characteristics displayed on GrowMint.
F. Spurious/Counterfeit Product
The product is determined to be counterfeit or otherwise not genuine where authenticity was represented.
G. Other Legally Applicable Circumstances
Where applicable law provides a customer with a return, replacement or refund remedy.
⸻
4. HOME APPLIANCES
Home appliances may include:
* Air conditioners
* Refrigerators
* Washing machines
* Kitchen appliances
* Water pumps
* Fans
* Water heaters
* Electrical appliances
* Other approved appliances
For appliances, the applicable product page should clearly mention:
Return period
Replacement conditions
Manufacturer warranty
Seller warranty, if any
Installation requirements
Service-centre requirements
Customers should follow the manufacturer’s warranty and installation requirements.
⸻
5. SPARE PARTS — SPECIAL POLICY
This is particularly important for GrowMint.
Many spare parts are supplied by independent vendors and may be:
* Genuine OEM parts
* Compatible parts
* Aftermarket parts
* Used/refurbished parts, where permitted
* Electrical/electronic components
* Mechanical components
* Appliance replacement parts
A spare part may be marked as:
Returnable
or
Non-returnable
on the individual product listing, provided the listing clearly communicates the applicable terms and does not attempt to exclude rights that cannot legally be excluded.
⸻
6. NON-RETURNABLE SPARE PARTS
A spare part may be designated non-returnable where its nature makes return inappropriate or where the seller’s disclosed policy lawfully permits this.
Examples may include:
* Electrical/electronic components;
* Components ordered specifically for a particular model;
* Special-order parts;
* Customised parts;
* Parts that have been installed;
* Parts that have been modified;
* Parts damaged after delivery;
* Parts showing signs of use or installation;
* Parts where identification/seals have been removed.
BUT IMPORTANT:
“Non-returnable” does not mean “defective products have no remedy.”
If a product is defective, materially different from its listing, spurious/counterfeit, or otherwise covered by applicable consumer law, the customer’s statutory rights remain unaffected.
This distinction is very important for GrowMint.
⸻
7. SPARE PARTS WITH NO WARRANTY
Some vendors may sell spare parts without providing a separate seller warranty.
In such cases, the product listing must clearly disclose:
“No seller/manufacturer warranty is provided for this product.”
However, the absence of a voluntary warranty does not allow a seller to avoid applicable legal responsibilities relating to defective, deficient, spurious or misrepresented goods.
The seller remains responsible for complying with applicable law.
⸻
8. INSTALLED OR USED SPARE PARTS
Customers should carefully verify:
* Model number
* Part number
* Compatibility
* Dimensions/specifications
* Appliance model
before ordering a spare part.
Generally, a correctly supplied spare part that has already been installed, modified or used may not be eligible for a change-of-mind return, where the product listing disclosed the applicable restriction and applicable law permits it.
However, defective or incorrectly supplied products remain subject to applicable consumer remedies.
⸻
9. WRONG SPARE PART
If GrowMint/seller supplies a spare part that is different from the part ordered, the customer may request an appropriate remedy.
For example:
Customer orders Samsung AC PCB model X
but
Seller sends PCB model Y
The customer should not be required to bear the return cost where the incorrect product was supplied by the seller.
⸻
10. COMPATIBILITY RESPONSIBILITY
For technical spare parts, customers should verify compatibility before ordering.
Where the customer selects the wrong part despite the product information being accurate, the return may be governed by the individual product’s return policy.
Where the seller provides incorrect compatibility information or sends an incompatible product that does not match the listing, the customer may be eligible for an appropriate remedy.
⸻
11. WARRANTY
A product may carry:
Manufacturer Warranty
Provided by the manufacturer.
Seller Warranty
Provided by the seller.
No Warranty
Where clearly disclosed on the product page.
GrowMint does not create a warranty where none is provided by the seller or manufacturer.
However, nothing in this policy limits any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
⸻
12. WARRANTY CLAIMS
Where a product is covered by manufacturer warranty, customers may be required to contact the manufacturer’s authorised service centre.
GrowMint or the seller may assist customers in identifying the appropriate warranty process where applicable.
Customers should retain:
* Invoice
* Order ID
* Serial number
* Warranty card, where applicable
* Installation/service records where relevant
⸻
13. RETURN PERIOD
The return period will be displayed on the relevant product page.
Examples may include:
7-day return
10-day return
Replacement only
No change-of-mind return
Non-returnable
The exact period may vary by product category and seller.
⸻
14. CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
A customer may request a return simply because they changed their mind only where the product listing specifically permits such returns.
GrowMint does not promise a change-of-mind return for every product.
This is especially relevant for:
* Spare parts
* Electrical components
* Customised products
* Installed products
* Special-order products
* Hygiene-sensitive products
* Other products where return is not appropriate
⸻
15. RETURN CONDITIONS
Where a return is permitted, the product may need to be:
* Unused;
* Undamaged;
* Complete;
* In original packaging where applicable;
* Accompanied by included accessories;
* Accompanied by invoice/order information;
* Free from unauthorised modification.
These conditions do not override a customer’s rights where the product itself is defective, deficient, spurious or materially different from what was advertised.
⸻
16. DAMAGED PRODUCT AT DELIVERY
If a product appears damaged when delivered, customers should:
1. Take photographs of the package.
2. Take photographs of the product.
3. Record the damage where possible.
4. Contact GrowMint through the available support mechanism.
5. Keep the packaging until the issue is resolved.
For certain products, an unboxing video may assist with investigation, although customers should not be denied a legally applicable remedy merely because an unboxing video is unavailable.
⸻
17. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN
Customers can submit a return/refund request through the available GrowMint order/support system.
The request should include:
* Order ID
* Product name
* Reason for return
* Photographs/videos where relevant
* Description of the problem
* Other information reasonably requested for verification
⸻
18. RETURN INSPECTION
For certain products, the seller, GrowMint or an authorised service provider may inspect the product before approving a return, replacement or refund.
Inspection may be necessary to determine:
* Whether the product is defective;
* Whether the wrong product was supplied;
* Whether the product was damaged after delivery;
* Whether the product was installed or modified;
* Whether the claim is covered by warranty.
⸻
19. REFUND
Where a refund is approved, the refund will normally be processed through the original payment method or another appropriate method permitted by law.
The time taken for the amount to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the payment gateway, bank or financial institution.
Government e-commerce guidance has stated that accepted refund requests should be processed within a maximum period of 14 days; GrowMint should therefore design its operational refund process around applicable legal requirements rather than promising an unnecessarily long period.
⸻
20. RETURN SHIPPING COST
Seller Responsibility
Where the return is caused by:
* Wrong product;
* Defective product;
* Damaged product;
* Product materially different from description;
* Other seller-related error,
the applicable return shipping cost should generally be borne by the seller, subject to applicable law and the specific circumstances.
Customer Responsibility
Where a permitted change-of-mind return is requested, the customer may be responsible for applicable return shipping charges where clearly disclosed before purchase and legally permissible.
⸻
21. SELLER RESPONSIBILITY
Every GrowMint seller must:
* Clearly state the applicable return policy;
* Disclose warranty information;
* Disclose non-returnable conditions;
* Provide accurate product information;
* Honour applicable return/refund obligations;
* Not falsely claim that defective products can never be returned;
* Not sell counterfeit/spurious products;
* Cooperate with GrowMint during customer disputes.
This is important because marketplace sellers have specific duties under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules.
⸻
22. SELLER “NO RETURN / NO WARRANTY” POLICY
A seller may specify that a product does not have a voluntary return policy or warranty where legally permissible and clearly disclosed.
However:
A seller’s “No Return” or “No Warranty” statement does not remove mandatory consumer rights.
This clause should be prominently understood by every GrowMint vendor.
⸻
23. FRAUDULENT OR MISUSE OF RETURN SYSTEM
GrowMint may investigate repeated or suspicious return activity.
Examples include:
* Returning a different product;
* Returning a used product while claiming it is unused;
* Removing serial numbers;
* Returning counterfeit products;
* Repeated false damage claims;
* Manipulating return/refund systems.
Where fraud or abuse is established, GrowMint may take appropriate action subject to applicable law.
⸻
24. PRODUCT REPLACEMENT
Where appropriate and available, GrowMint or the seller may offer:
Replacement
instead of:
Refund
For example, a defective appliance may be eligible for replacement under the applicable seller/manufacturer policy.
The customer will be informed of the available remedy.
⸻
25. NO REMEDY FOR CUSTOMER-CAUSED DAMAGE
Where a product was correctly supplied and subsequently damaged because of:
* Incorrect installation;
* Improper use;
* Physical damage;
* Electrical damage;
* Water damage;
* Unauthorised modification;
* Negligence;
* Failure to follow manufacturer instructions,
the product may not qualify for a return or refund under the ordinary return policy, subject to applicable law and warranty terms.
⸻
26. GROWMINT’S ROLE
GrowMint operates as a marketplace/platform connecting customers with participating sellers.
GrowMint may facilitate:
* Product discovery;
* Orders;
* Payments;
* Return requests;
* Communication;
* Complaint handling;
* Seller coordination.
The relevant seller remains responsible for its products and applicable seller obligations, subject to GrowMint’s marketplace responsibilities and applicable law.
